 Smithing Tips

  • You should always produce the product that profits the most, for example a bronze dagger and a bronze short sword will give you the same experience, but will earn you more than 2 times as much.
  • To smith faster, there are 2 ways:
    •
    • Buy the ores from other people.
    • Mine a lot of ore at a mining place near a bank and deposit the ore, and after more than 10 rounds, go to the bank in Falador which is near the furnace in Falador. After smelting all the ores into bars and depositing the bars into the bank again, go to Varrock, and get the bars out of bank to smith into items. This way you don't waist too much timewalking from mines to other mines then to furnace then to anvils everytime.
  • For more information on mining tips, go to the Mining Page.

 How to smelt bars

  • There are 3 funaces in Runescape, one in Lumbridge (a bit north of the general store), one in Al Kharid (next to the tannery), one in Falador (south of shield shop and south east of general store).
  • Use ores with furnace to smelt them into bars.
  • You need to have the following ores and smithing levels in order to smelt them into bars.

How to smith bars into items

  • First you need a hammer in your inventory, you can buy one in any general store or the mining shop in dwarfs mine.
  • Then you need to find an anvil (there are many anvils around Runescape), and use the bars on the anvil to make something.
  • When you use the bars with the anvil, it will ask you what you want to make (the words are in light blue on the left top side of screen), it will ask if you want to make a "weapon" or "armor" first.
  • After you get to the item you want, it will either use the bars to make the item, or it will say that you have not enough bars or your level is not high enough (on the bottom left of screen in white words). To learn how many bars you need for each item, go to the Smith Tables page. If you don't have a high enough level, go train some more on lower level items.
